6. A cruel decision by an administrative agency
The user's factory in Okuma-machi in the evacuation order area that moved to city "Iwaki-shi" and the production line is to be rebuilt, so I received their request for the transfer work That's why I often went back and forth between Shiga-ken and Iwaki-shi by car, at that time taking care of my father.
However, all the hotels in Iwaki-shi city that I planned to use were full of reconstruction workers. So I completed the transfer work while staying overnight in the temporary accommodation Sauna (steam room), and was able to get the factory to start production.
I received a very grateful request from a client that after moving my company to
Iwaki-shi and support their work, but in the end I could not secure the land and buildings necessary for the move, and gave up the request.
There was a relocation compensation program, but it was only aimed at businesses within the evacuation order area, and it became clear that companies like my company outside the evacuation order area would not receive any support whatsoever.
Additionally, if we were in the evacuated area, we would have had to receive
relocation costs, but since we were outside the order area, we did not enjoy the
system. However, in the area of Souma-shi and Hutaba-shi, various infrastructures
such as businesses, education and product sales run through the municipality it is natural for local governments to maintain this system. But the boundary line was mechanically made 30 km from the nuclear power plant.
Therefore, we could no longer provide the same work to our customers as before, and I tearfully had no choice but to give up on their requests.
As a result, we lost major customers who accounted for 60% of our sales at the time, and the damage was significant.
Our cash flow has worsened dramatically, and the local credit union "SouSou" (that means Soma and Futaba du areas) has informed us that it is foreclosure.
The credit union was a local financial institution, but it did not consider that in the bad situation businesses in Souma were. I consulted with prefecture "Fukushima-ken" and the national government, but there was no effective solution. And in 2014, my home and corporate office land and buildings were all foreclosed and auctioned off.
At the time when no progress was made in receiving compensation from TEPCO
("Tokyo Electric Power Company"), I was asked to repay the debt. But I could not do
it, and entire properties were foreclosed and auctioned. And my home, corporate
office and real estate were all taken.
In 2015, we received a notice from the Legal Affairs Office to cancel company registration, and finally my company disappeared.
Our company, which my honest and diligent father had worked hard to build over the past 50 years, and contributed to the development of local client companies, became unable to continue to exist due to the TEPCO nuclear power plant accident and went bankrupt.
The disappointment of my father Kiyoshi who was ill, was immeasurable. I feel extremely angry at the response of TEPCO, Japanese government, etc., who forced us into this situation.
